Biography
Fidelis Suorineni is the Chair of Mine Geotechnical Engineering in the School of Mining Engineering. He obtained his B.Sc. in geological engineering from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana, MSc in Advanced Rock Mechanics and Excavation Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Britain, and PhD from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He has over 30 years experience in teaching, research and consulting in Ghana and Canada, and has published over 90 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings. In 2012, Fidelis was awarded the Douglas Hay Medal by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) for best paper published in Mining Technology.
